March and April ’14

Not a ton to update. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. Congratulations to everyone on their middle school acceptances. I hope everyone got in where they wanted. I’m still going to try and make it out there for graduation.

February ’14

Hello. Well I’m trying to think of what happened in February. Strep came and paid me a visit which was fun. When I said I was sick at the end of my last post it ended up being strep. The beginnings of something icky was starting to hit me on a Thursday or Friday and by Sunday I couldn’t swallow without a lot of pain. Went to the doctor and got antibiotics and that started to help really fast. Luckily, I got well in time for my snowboarding trip to Utah to go see my friend Eric. A bunch of people went and stayed in a cabin. The conditions were pretty good and it snowed on the second day. We all went bowling and we were all really bad. No one broke 100… We should have asked for bumpers.

I watched the Oscars. Oh my that show is long. Since my last post I’ve seen Wolf of Wall Street, 12 Years a Slave and Kick Ass. All were pretty good in their own right. Kick Ass was a lot more violent then I thought it would be. None of those movies are appropriate for my younger audience. The Lego Movie is pretty high on my list of movies to see. Have you guys seen it?

Movies weren’t the only thing, I also saw the musical Wicked while it was in Austin. It’s a story that follows the life of the wicked witch from The Wizard of Oz before she meets Dorothy. If you have the opportunity to see it you should.

I guess I’m about due for an update. I just talked to Sally yesterday and it reminded me that I haven’t posted in a while. Speaking of which if any of you are reading this go down and say hi to her now and then.

Started to take Krav Maga again. I used to take it in LA but took a break for a little while. Found a place in Austin that’s a lot cheaper than LA was. They also have a beginners Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class that I started taking. It’s interesting. I’d describe it as wrestling with submission holds.

poolI joined a pool league. Yep that kind of pool. Growing up we were always playing pool in my friends’ basements. Always enjoyed it but could never find a league in LA. Well I found one in Austin. We meet once a week and I’m on a team. I play one match vs an opponent and depending on their rank I have to win a certain number of games. Other than that there’s an open practice table and I can play as much as I want. I usually stick around after and play teammate. I’m actually learning new things which is always fun. Cause learning is fun right? Right?

Also joined a Winter League for Ultimate. Our record’s not the best right now but it’s fun and good to meet new people. We even had some team outings. One to see American Hustle and one to go bowling. Wow I’m bad at bowling. I bowled a 105 though! Broke 100!

Movies. After the Golden Globes I had an itch to go see a bunch of the films that were nominated. Saw: American Hustle, Dallas Buyer’s Club, and Her. I’d still like to see Gravity and Wolf of Wall Street. Not sure if Gravity is still in the theaters or not.

Currently I’m sick. Ugh. That means I’m gonna end my summary for now.
