Happy Birthday Sis!

Hey there. I’ll do my best to be a bit more thorough with this post since I’ve been slacking a bit with my last couple.

Went to go see my last class graduate from elementary school. It was great to see everyone (mostly everyone). Got to hang out with Sally and we gave Erik’s graduation poem together. I heard he even smiled. Saw Hannah in a dress, awwww. Phoebs gave me a hard time of course. She had a whole year to catch up on. Max T., Ash, and Yas were all as kind as ever. For the most part everything seemed the same at SAE.

My pool team qualified to go to Vegas!

Vegas is the equivalent to the national championship of the APA (American Poolplayers Association). In order to make it we had to place top 2 out of 15 in our league tournament to qualify for Tri-Cup, top 6 out of 38 teams in the Tri- Cup tournament to qualify for Cities, then finally be in the top 5 out of 16 teams in the City-Cup (Cities) tournament in order to qualify for Vegas. Yeah, you have to make it through a lot of competition to make it to Vegas. It came down to our very last match to see if we made it or not. Nail-biter!

Went to Luling Watermelon Thump this past Saturday. Not really quite what I thought it would be. Food choices were pretty boring. One stand selling overpriced watermelon. No grilled watermelon or anything like that. Apparently I still haven’t moved far enough east to escape Funnel Cake 🙁
Anyone know where the Funnel Cake/Fried Dough border is?
Map
There was also some weird fundraising thing where they were selling watermelons for $20k. Not sure what the deal there was. I did pay $5 to a carnival guy to see if he could guess my age within 2 years. Got some entertainment and a stuffed animal out of it. Glad I went but probably won’t go again next year.

Summer League has started for Ultimate. Team is 2-2 so far.

Not sure what I’m doing for the 4th of July. Ideally, I’d like to find a good spot to take some photos of fireworks.

Movies:
Saw X-Men: Days of Future Past. Best part was Quicksilver’s scene. Still can’t stand the casting for the original X-Men though. Beast, Jean Grey, Storm, Rogue actor choices all bad, bad, bad, and bad. Don’t think I’ll see Transformers. I didn’t like the first 2 Michael Bay Transformer movies and have read this is more of the same. That’s disappointing. Anyone else find it odd that no blockbusters are coming out for 4th weekend? Saw Godzilla a while back. Much more enjoyable than the ’98 version. Granted there was room for improvement in the human characters. Also saw the last Thor movie. Entertaining. Caught up and watched 21 Jump Street in case I end up seeing 22 Jump Street. Funny but not omg rofl funny. Saw Justice League:War last night. Looking forward to Lucy and Kingsman: The Secret Service. Hadn’t heard of Kingsman until I saw it in the X-Men previews.

TV:
Watched from beginning to end The Arrow, S.H.I.E.L.D, and True Detective. Caught up on Supernatural, NCIS, White Collar and Mentalist.

That’s it for now. Subscribe to receive an email whenever I post something new.
